
Leg A
In the summer of 2026, the CCGS Amundsen will travel within Baffin Bay and along the West coast of Greenland, enabling sampling along oceanographic transects and across a latitudinal range of glacier-fjord systems, with potential for land deployments. The planned itinerary is:
- departure from Iqaluit on 6th of August
- Ilulissat Area
- Uummannaq Area
- Kullorsuaq Area
- Qaanaaq Area
- Humboldt Glacier
- Petermann Glacier
arrival in Pituffik Space Base on 3rd of September
Leg B
In the fall of 2026, the expedition will focus on sea-ice formation in western Baffin Bay. Four stations will be set-up, with land deployments possible opportunistically. The location of these four sites will depend on ice conditions but should be located around:
- departure from Iqaluit on 29th October
- site n°1 : ~75°30’N
- site n°2 : ~74°15’N
- site n°3 : ~72°45’N
- site n°4 : ~71°30’N
- arrival in Québec City on 25th November
