🇬🇧 - Meet the people on board! 👋We're delighted to welcome the TRACE-WGC team to Leg A of CASCADES!Megan Roberts is Lab Manager for Erin Bertrand at Dalhousie University and one of the coordinators of the Uncertain-Seas project. During the expedition, she will assist with trace metal clean bioassay experiments to help assess micronutrient limitation in the study areas.Juliette Provencher is the Canadian coordinator of CASCADES. She is Lab Manager for Mathieu Ardyna at Phyto-Pole Lab at Laval University. His research aims to better document nutrient cycling and oxygen availability in marine ecosystems, and the impact these processes have on carbon cycling in the ocean interior. He develops innovative sedimentological and geochemical approaches to reconstruct climate-driven changes in the marine environment. 🇬🇧 - Not all Arctic carbon is visible. 🌿🧊Every drop of Arctic water carries tiny fragments of organic matter from glaciers, soils, tundra vegetation and marine life.The Organic Matter research cluster investigates where this material comes from, how it changes as it travels through fjords, and what happens to the carbon it contains.Some of this organic matter is rapidly broken down and released back into the atmosphere.
